MermaidsLove On Etsy! Holiday Gift Guide Review!

I received two different types of items to review from a shop on etsy by the name of MermaidsLove

The first set of items she sent me to review for you guys is these two adorable bibs. I love these, they are super well made. The designs she chose to send are gorgeous as well. The first one is a gorgeous plum color that is a chevron print. The next one is grey bib, with white and yellow bunnies. This one is probably my favorite one :) Another great thing about these bibs she sent to me is that they are both gender neutral so you could use them with baby boys and baby girls.

Retails:($7.00)

The fabric on these are so soft! The fabric underneath is even softer its more like a fuzzy fabric, which is super comfortable and would be perfect for babies. I know a lot of babies don't like wearing bibs because the fabric is usually kind of scratchy and not very comfortable, but that isn't the case with these.

Stay tuned to the giveaway this will be some of the items you will have the chance at winning :)

The last item I have to review from this shop are these adorable Minnie Ears. As you can probably tell from the picture these are Lion King Ears! I am blown away by these. These are actually the first pair of Lion King ears that I have found to be honest, which is why I was so drawn to these in the first place. Lion King is one of my favorite movies of all time, and these ears are just adorable.

One thing I really like about these ears is that they are not flat. These are the ears that are stuffed, which are my favorite ones to be completely honest. They are super soft as well, and pretty light too I will definitely be wearing these on Saturday when I will be at the Magic Kingdom :)

Retails:($22.00)

I love the big red sequin bow that is in the center of these ears. I love how she chose red to be bow color, the red bow is perfect because the fabric on the ears has little pieces of red accents so it really makes the bow stand out more.

This is what the back of the ears look like. You can probably see that these look perfect, and yep you are correct! These were made incredibly and I am amazed by how much of a fantastic job she does with making these. To be completely honest these are the best made ears I have reviewed here on my blog. These are super sturdy and really comfortable as well.

These bibs would be the perfect gift for any expecting mother, or even a mother who has kids already :)

The ears would be perfect for any Disney lover, or for someone who has an upcoming Disney vacation planned!

BrendaDeesigns on Etsy! Interview :)

Name: Brenda Diamant

Location: Long Island, New York

Age: 23

Name of shop: Brenda Deesigns

How'd you come up with the name of your shop: My Facebook name is Brenda Dee, and my neighbor actually thought of the name Brenda Deesigns. I figured it’s also a cute spin on the word “designs” and kind of ties in my name. So I ran with it. The name is also pretty generic so it gives me wiggle room to change up the products in my shop.

How long has your shop been open: I opened my shop on August 11, 2014, but I just started getting serious with it and promoting it more during the last few months.

What gave you the idea about opening an etsy shop: I started off with making jewelry and I wanted to sell it, and I knew Etsy was a good place for that. My shop has evolved since then.

Is this a hobby of yours or do you do this full time?It is kind of both for me. Creating has always been a hobby of mine, but my career is Fashion Design and sewing. I have a degree in Fashion Design. I would love for this to eventually give me a good side income.

What kind of items do you sell in your shop: I started my shop off with jewelry, and have since expanded to selling illustrations and pillows. I offer maternity illustrations on blank notecards that can be used for baby shower invitations, baby shower thank-you notes, and/or pregnancy or new baby announcements. If someone is interested in notecards but wants a different illustration, say for a wedding, I can do that. My most popular selling items though are my pillows. They are all hand embroidered. I do not use a machine. I like sewing and I love personalizing something special for someone, whether it be for a wedding, a new baby, or just as a decorative pillow with a special quote for the home.

Your favorite item that you sell: My favorite pillows are my baby announcement pillows and my wedding pillows. I love celebrating love and new babies!
Retails:($25.00)
Retails:($48.00)

Something you want to happen to your shop in the future: I want my shop to be successful. I want to expand on the types of pillows that I offer. I have many more ideas that will appeal to anyone, any occasion, and for any room of the house. I still consider my shop in the beginning stages, so I want it to grow and get many more sales. I also want to expand to selling at craft shows and other shops and boutiques. My ultimate goal in life as a Fashion Designer is to have my own business making custom dresses and gowns for women and girls. I want my Etsy shop to be an extension of my business.

Do you have any plans for your shop products in the future: Yes

If so what: I want to make pillows for every season; for holidays; to honor people (such as cancer awareness), for weddings; for babies; for milestones in kids’ lives; and more.

What is something you want your future customers to know about your shop:
I work by myself. I do everything by myself. I take great pride in everything I make, and I put a lot of hard work and love into everything I make. My goal is always to make something that the customer will love and treasure forever. Anything and everything in my shop is customizeable. I love personalizing things for anyone. It makes me so happy to know that I am making something special for someone that they will treasure and love for a long time. Anyone can feel free to message me on my Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/BrendaDiamantDesigns, or at my Etsy shop, BrendaDeesigns.etsy.com

LilaBabyCandles on Etsy! Interview :)

Name: Tasha Skiles

Location: Wisconsin

Age: 21

Name of shop: Lila Baby Candles

How'd you come up with the name of your shop: I started my shop with the intention of only selling candles in repurposed baby food jars and wanted something that reflected my products.  My first thought was "Little baby candle boutique" but it just didn't click with me. I eventually worked my way to "little baby candles" but I felt like it needed some flair and used Google to look up the name in other languages. I saw the word for little in, sweedish I think it was, and I knew that was it. "Lila Baby Candles" was born.

How long has your shop been open: little over 5 months.

What gave you the idea about opening an etsy shop: as a stay at home mom, I had a lot of free time and I really needed a hobby. I started researching candle making and fell in love with it. But my family in general doesn't burn candles often so I honestly thought "hey I could sell these!" so I put in some hours researching online selling platforms and found etsy. I've heard of etsy in the past but never thought I'd end up selling there.

Is this a hobby of your or do you do this full time?: first and foremost, I am a mother first. My now 1 year old son is my first priority but I do treat my etsy as a business and intend to become an LLC when I am able. I am always working on ideas and products for my shop. Even when I'm chasing down a hyper toddler.

What kind of items do you sell in your shop: I sell hand poured soy wax candles, molded wax tarts, and most recently body products such as skin salves and sugar scrubs infused with therapy grade essential oils.

Your favorite item that you sell: I'm in love with my wax tarts and essential oil products. The tarts are so full of fragrance I can fill my home with a beautiful scent just by putting 2 tarts in my warmer and they last for what feels like forever. The skin salve and sugar scrub have made my eczema much less noticeable and made my skin feel softer than ever. Plus the oils I've chosen have not only boosted my mood  and reduced my anxiety just from the aroma, but left my skin healthier. I wanted to make sure that my product leave you feeling better overall.

Something you want to happen to your shop in the future: I definitely want to have steady sales every week. I put so much of myself into my work and so much thought, I want people to love them as much as I do. I'm slowly gaining speed so I hope I get there.

Do you have any plans for your shop products in the future: I plan to work with  more charities/organizations/foundations/etc for my Candles for a Cause line of candles to raise awareness and funds for research and cures of diseases and conditions and I want to expand my bath and body products to include a wider range of items.

What is something you want your future customers to kno about your shop: I'd love my customers to know that this isn't just a hobby, I really love making all my items and love working with charity to help those in need. I always take my time with orders to make sure everything is perfect before I send it. I'm not just someone rushing through a delicate process to make a quick buck on a cheaply made item. I love my work and I value my customers.

My favorite item that is for sale in this shop has got to be one of the baby jar candles. There so adorable and it was super clever on her part to use baby food jars for candles. It's the perfect size not to small and not to big either. I really want to try one of these out!
